Foods that can help to burn your body fat!!!

by Kevin | 1 Oct 2019

Foods that fight fat. Something that we constantly look out for (especially us ladies). Hitting the gym isn’t enough if you aren’t eating right. Especially in Malaysia where we are constantly around good food that tastes like heaven but can be the real reason for those extra layers around the belly area. We in Malaysia might not often have the time to burn off the fat through physical activities which by right we should make time for.

However, we can always take care of our diets and consume food that help in burning of the fat. But, one must bare in mind that there is no shortcut and you may need to hit the gym sooner or later for your overall health benefits. I will be sharing a few miracle foods that aid in burning off those fat!

Foods That Aid In FAT Burning

1 .Green Tea

This wouldn’t come across as a surprise to you as one of the very well known health benefits of green tea is to lose weight and here’s why, green tea is a source of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which is an antioxidant that promotes fat burning and the loss of belly fat.

Based on a study it showed that those who consume green tea as well as exercise on a daily basis burned fat and calories compared to those who do not. If you don’t mind the taste of green tea or matcha why not give it a try yourself!

2. Coffee

Coffee addicts out there here’s some more good news on why you shouldn’t ditch your coffee just yet (because of the recent debate between substituting coffee with matcha). Coffee apart from tasting good and having an overall effect in enhancing the mood is said to aid in fat burning.

Again, to support this statement we have a study that proved people who took caffeine an hour before exercise burned nearly twice as much fat and were able to exercise 17% longer than the non-caffeine group. Research has also shown that caffeine increases metabolic rate by an impressive 3 to 13% depending on the amount consumed and individual response. So coffee is here to stay! (at least for me).

3. Oolong Tea

Oolong Tea is considered to be one of the healthiest beverages out there but doesn't get it’s so called recognition as much as green tea! Based on a small study in men and women suggest that drinking oolong tea increases metabolic rate and promotes weight loss.

In addition to that, one study found that oolong tea increased calorie burning twice as much as green tea did.

4. Fatty Fish

Fatty fish such as Salmon, herring, sardines, mackerel and etc are a great source of so many health nutrients and health benefits as it is rich in Vitamins and Omega-3 fatty acids. Studies showed that adults that took fish oil supplements lost an average of 1.1 pounds (0.5 kilograms) of fat and experienced a drop in cortisol which is a stress hormone that's associated with fat storage.

In addition, fish is also an excellent source of high-quality protein and digesting protein leads to greater feelings of fullness and increases metabolic rate significantly more than digesting fat or carbs. It is recommended to consume fatty fish at least twice a week and about 100g each to get the best results.

5. Eggs

Eggs are so delicious and can be enjoyed even if it’s just hard boiled. Many on diet often avoid eggs especially egg yolks due to its high cholesterol content. However, whole eggs have been proven to help protect your heart’s health. So moving on to the more important question, how do eggs aid in burning fat?.

Well, eggs can suppress hunger for longer hours as consuming eggs reduces the hunger pangs as well as keeps you full for several hours. Those that have said to have eggs for their breakfast consume fewer calories throughout the day.

Furthermore, eggs are also a great source of high-quality protein, which increases metabolic rate by about 20–35% for several hours after eating and this is based on several studies.

6. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an ancient remedy with an abundance of health benefits and has research and results to back it up. It's is said to reduce appetite and aids in lowering blood sugar as well as insulin levels in people with diabetes. In addition, vinegar's main component, acetic acid, has been found to increase fat burning and reduce belly fat storage in several animal studies.

A study of 144 obese men who added 2 tablespoons of vinegar to their usual diets every day for 12 weeks lost 3.7 pounds (1.7 kilograms) and experienced a 0.9% reduction in body fat. Therefore, Including apple cider vinegar in your diet may help you lose body fat. You may start off with 1 teaspoon per day diluted in water and gradually work up to 1 to 2 tablespoons per day to minimize potential digestive discomfort.

7. Olive Oil

If you haven’t heard this enough already, olive oil is one of the healthiest fats on earth. So what's the hype all about? olive oil has been shown to lower triglycerides, increase HDL cholesterol and stimulate the release of GLP-1 which is one of the hormones that helps keep you full.

In addition, some studies have shown that olive oil may boost metabolic rate and promote fat loss. Also, in a small study in 12 postmenopausal women with abdominal obesity who consumed extra virgin olive oil as part of a meal significantly increased the number of calories the women burned for several hours.

In order to add olive oil into your daily diet, drizzle a couple of tablespoons on your salad or add it to cooked food (food that require minimal cooking).

8. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is loaded with numerous health benefits. If you add coconut oil to your diet appears to increase "good" HDL cholesterol and decrease your triglycerides, helping you lose weight. In a study, obese men who added 2 tablespoons of coconut oil each day to their usual diet lost an average of 1 inch from their waist without making any other diet changes nor increasing their physical activity.

This is because the fats in coconut oil are mostly MCTs, which have been credited with appetite-suppressing and fat-burning properties. coconut oil remains stable at high temperatures which makes it ideal for high-heat cooking.

In order to incorporate coconut oil to your diet, consume up to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil daily may help maximize fat burning. Start easier such as with a teaspoon or so and gradually increase the amount to avoid any digestive discomfort.
