Fruits have always been known to give you gorgeous and glowy skin. They have the ability to give you that radiating sheen from within which brightens your complexion tremendously. Find out which fruits you should be eating based on your skin type!

1. Oily skin.

Though citrus fruits have a very distinctive flavour any may not fit everyone’s taste palette, we definitely recommend it for combating oily skin. They are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants which increase your skin’s natural pH level therefore preventing acne. You can eat them whole or even choose to apply it directly to your skin to ward off free-radicals. They are a natural astringent which helps in absorbing excess oil whilst keeping your skin well hydrated.

Bananas are that one fruit that everybody just loves. They make great natural exfoliators, which help remove excess sebum on the skin surface. They are also rich in potassium and moisture which make them the perfect fruit for oily skin as they provide a 2-in-1 feature of exfoliating and moisturizing the skin at the same time.

2. Acne-prone skin.

Pineapple is another magnificent fruit that is loaded with vitamin C and bromelain, a natural anti-inflammatory property. The zestiness of a pineapple contains alpha-hydroxy acids which are excellent at preventing acne as well as premature ageing. It also acts as an exfoliating agent which unclogs the skin therefore preventing bacteria buildup in the pores, the core reason that causes acne.

Tiny yet mighty, berries are packed with vitamin C and antioxidants. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, you name it. Their high vitamin C content protects your skin from becoming blotchy due to acne scarring. Meanwhile, the antioxidants fight against and help in lightening your dark spots.

3. Sensitive skin.

Watermelon is the fruit with the highest water content of about 94%. This makes it such a refreshing and hydrating fruit. It contains vitamins C, A, B1, B6 and lycopene which are essential in promoting overall healthy skin. As it is mostly filled with water, this means that the watermelon is intensely hydrating and moisturizing to the skin. Lycopene eradicates free radicals therefore preventing any tissue damage on your skin.

It’s no surprise apples are on this list. Apples aren’t only amazing for your internal health but also for your skin. They contain vitamin C and other powerful antioxidants that protect your skin from damaging free radicals. Apples also contain anti-inflammatory properties which are great at soothing sensitive, irritated skin.
