Post Festivities: 3 Daily Habits For A Better You

by Stefanie | 3 Feb 2023

It's that time of the year again. We're just over a month into the new year yet we find ourselves stuck in a rut. If you're beginning to feel a little overwhelmed, here are 3 daily healthy habits you can start incorporating to make the transition into the new year more seamless. These habits will help you identify changes you can make to aide your personal growth and journey in life.

1. Begin every morning with intention
Your intention acts as a guide, reminding you what you need to focus on. Try asking yourself questions based on your intention. By asking such questions that lead right back to your intention, you'll then be able to design your day-to-day actions surrounding that very intention. Doing this right at the start of the day ensures you're able to actually design your day right by cancelling out other unnecessary distractions.

2. Find healthy meal recipes you actually like
Create change from the inside out. This one's definitely a cliché one that's much easier said than done. But let's break it down step-by-step so you can understand how healthy you should actually be eating. Most of us know that whole foods are always better than processed foods though committing to that alone is highly impossible as you'll tend to fall right back into the rut you were in before. Take it slow. Test out as many healthy recipes as you'd like before settling for your favourite and try it out for 1 week. You'll find that this makes your diet routine much more acceptable as you're not introducing too much at a time.

3. Do something every day that sparks joy
Life should never feel rigid. It should never be about ticking off your to-do list and tasks for the day. Instead, you need to focus on the little things that bring joy. If you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, always remember to come back to what brings you joy. It can truly be the littlest things in life such as walking your dog or binge watching your favourite show. If your mind tries guilt-tripping you, take a step back and ask yourself why you may be feeling so. Reflect and look back at some of the self-limiting beliefs or expectations you may be holding on to.
