Good Night Sleep with Plant Origins Lavender Essential Oil

If you’re having trouble sleeping at night then you have come to the right place! In this blog post, we will be sharing a few tips and tricks to get better sleep as well as using our 100% plant-based and 100% natural Plant Origins Lavender Essential Oil to have a good night sleep.

Lavender essential oil will be the hero in this blog post as lavender having a naturally sweet smelling scent which allows the body to feel more calm and relaxed. This will help to treat insomnia while reducing depression and anxiety. Below here are a few ways you can use lavender essential oil.

1. Use it by itself
Add 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil into your room diffuser before you head to bed.

2. Mix it up! Essential oil blending
As previously mentioned in our essential oil blending recipe blog here, 2 drops Lavender + 2 drops Sweet Orange + 2 drops Vetiver in your diffuser works well together promoting a good night sleep!

3. Use it tropically
You can add 1-2 drops of lavender essential oil into your body lotion before bed time as lavender not only helps with better sleep but also soothing your skin.

4. Linen spray
No diffuser, no body lotion? No worries! Mix about 10-20 drops of lavender essential oil into a spray bottle and topped it up with water and one tablespoon of rubbing alcohol. Shake before use and spray onto your bed sheets before you go to sleep.

Besides using the powerful lavender essential oil, here are a few tips to take note too for better sleep.

1. Regular sleeping pattern
Our brain can work better with having a schedule especially nightly shut down time. So make sure you’re sleeping early, regularly and consistently. It is also best to try avoiding having long naps (30 minutes is recommended) during the day time which can confuse your brain.

2. Food & liquid intake
Late night heaving eating can negatively impact your beauty sleep and increase of fluid intake before bedtime will make you use the bathroom which interrupts you in midst of sleeping.

3. Phone away
As much as we need our electronic devices, it really can prevent us from going to bed and sleeping early. Thus, it’s best to put your phone far away from your bed to prevent constantly using it at night.

4. Room environment
Having a comfortable environment will definitely help in a good night sleep. We recommend getting good pillows, bed and bed sheets as well as the room temperature can be adjusted to 16°C - 19°C for a good night sleep.
