Grand Total:

New Year, New Resolutions, New Mindset To Keep

by Stefanie | 7 Jan 2022

Forget the usual self-improvement resolutions – They simply would not last.

Instead, we are here to help you incorporate the profound teachings of yoga to set the right intention and mindset for the new year. Essentially, yoga is meant to help you release any negative energy that may be holding you down. Through this lens, it would also mean to surrender or in other words, to completely set your most heartfelt desire free into the universe. It is to seek self-discovery and find a greater purpose in life. Yoga is more than just another Sunday morning ritual for it teaches us to grow with intention.

How Shavasana helps with self-reflection for the new year?
If you are a yogi, you would know that every yoga practice typically ends with Shavasana, which is basically a pose where you lay down flat on your back and hands by your side. After stretching for the last 30 minutes or so, you are now left to breathe, relax and let go. You release all the tension in your muscle and this contributes more than you can imagine to your emotional wellbeing. Think of Shavasana as an opportunity to reflect and give yourself the love and TLC you deserve.

Likewise, as you are the start of a new chapter, take this moment to look ahead with excitement and endless possibilities. This should be a reminder for us to bask in our self-reflection over the past year and simply acknowledge our achievements and look forward to what is in store for the new year. Practice the Shavasana physically and emotionally to take a step back, reflect and strive for more in the coming year.
