It is no understatement when we say Kam Heong sauce is a testimony to the fact that Malaysian culinary styles and ingredients complement each other. Kam Heong or 金香 in Chinese (literally translated as “golden fragrance”) is a cooking style developed in Malaysia that showcases our country’s culinary style of mixing cultures and ingredients. A fusion of aromatics tempered with the fiery heat of bird’s eye chillies, curry leaves, crushed dried shrimp, curry powder, oyster sauce and various other seasonings yields a sauce that is amazingly versatile. Our Spicy Kam Heong Sauce is free of artificial flavouring, colouring and MSG but still tantalizingly sweet and spicy. We’ve done all the hard work of blending, measuring and hand-picking the freshest ingredients to go into your favourite stir-fry sauce. 1. Chillies are rich in various vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin K1, potassium and copper.
2. Chillies are very high in antioxidant carotenoids. Capsanthin, the main carotenoid in red chili peppers which makes up to 50% of the total carotenoid content has powerful antioxidant properties that may fight cancer.
3. Chillies contain capsaicin that are often used for its analgesic properties and may help with weight loss.
4. Capsaicin contained in red chillies can aid diabetes prevention and contribute to red blood cell formation. Capsaicin may also promote weight loss by reducing appetite and increasing fat burning.
5. Curry leaves are rich in vitamin A, B, B2, C and folic acid as well as iron and calcium. It contains carbazole alkaloids that work against weight gain and aid in regulating cholesterol levels. Folic acid helps the body to absorb iron more effectively, making it an effective ingredient to alleviate symptoms of anaemia.
6. Curry leaves can help with constipation, diarrhoea and nausea as they stimulate the digestive enzymes and help support bowel movement.
7. Curry leaves are good for diabetics with type 2 diabetes and may improve eyesight due to its high levels of minerals such as copper, iron and zinc.
8. Curry leaves contain a compound called linolol (the same compound that gives it its distinct scent) which has bacteria-killing properties.
9. Shrimp are rich in selenium, a mineral that may help reduce inflammation and promote heart health. They are also one of the best natural food sources of iodine and zinc which is essential for proper thyroid function and brain health. Zinc also helps curb the appetite while iodine helps maintain the basal metabolism of the body.

Usage Directions

How To Consume
Kam Heong Chicken:
1 kg - Deboned chicken cubes – marinated
1/2 tsp - Salt (marinade)
1/4 tsp - White pepper (marinade)
40 g - Spring onion cut into 1 inch pieces
180 g - Spicy Kam Heong Sauce

Method:
1. Stir-fry marinated chicken cubes until cooked and set aside.
2. Heat up Spicy Kam Heong Sauce with spring onion and stir in chicken cubes.
3. Serve hot.

*Serving Portion: Serves 16 persons per packet.

Ingredients
Chilli, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, shallot, dried shrimp, lemongrass, light soy sauce, curry leaf, dark soy sauce
