The miniature relative of tear-inducing onions, shallots are the babies of the allium family but their tiny size belies their true flavour-enhancing capabilities. Milder and sweeter than their bigger counterparts, shallots often feature in Asian cuisine but appear most commonly as a popular condiment: deep-fried shallots. Finely sliced then deep-fried at the perfect temperature and duration, the premium grade fresh shallots transform into golden brown, crispy, fragrant morsels that will add texture and flavour to any dish. Our Fried Golden Shallots are made from all-natural real ingredients with no flour added as bulking agents unlike commercial brands being sold in supermarkets. Crispy and flavourful, they make great garnishes no matter the cuisine. Top a bowl of porridge, noodles or tofu with them, stir them into rice or omelettes - think of it as food confetti and sprinkle away on your favourite dish!

2. Shallots contain vitamins and minerals such as pyridoxine, folates, thiamine and vitamin C. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) increases gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels which helps soothe stress and anxiety.
3. Shallots are rich in antioxidants which are released when it is cut. These antioxidants also form allicin which helps reduce cell mutation and may help prevent several types of cancers. Allicin protects the cardiovascular system by stimulating the production of glutathione and inhibits an enzyme that controls cholesterol production, thus helping to lower cholesterol levels.
4. Shallots produce biochemical reactions that are known to fight infections, viruses and inflammations.
